Day of God

And here is one point, my friends, which you must not lose sight of: with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day .... But the Day of the Lord will come; it will come unexpected as a thief. On that day the heavens will disappear with a great rushing sound, the elements will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and with all that is done on it will be disclosed. Since the whole universe is to break up in this way, think what sort of people you to ought be ... waiting for and hastening the coming of the Day of God, because of which the heavens will be set ablaze and dissolved, and the elements will melt in flames. But, we have this promise, and look forward to new heavens and a new earth ....

II Peter 3: 8-13

Day of God

as each we might find
ourselves beholding

and beheld

in the way of all flesh
born to die

coming to Creation

arising and breaking up
in this way

a word now changing

imagining what we are
by cinemaesthetic means

what is always coming

disclosing whatsoever
sort of people

we ought to be

among the elements
set ablaze

dissolving congealing
